Pictured above are our Directors Dougie Loynes and Tony Burton, handing over a donation on behalf of all at Ridge Park, to Carol Price, Head of Fund Raising and development at Barnabus Manchester.
After 28 years “Barnabus Manchester” are still bringing hope to the streets of Manchester and providing life-saving support to the homeless and vulnerable of our City. Throughout the last 12 months the charity and its volunteers have provided a lifeline to people caught up in the devastating trap of homelessness, with 20,711 visits to their Drop In Centre, assisting almost 2.500 individual people of whom 66% stated poor mental health as well as other complex needs had contributed to their current circumstances.
It was fitting that hosting this occasion at MediaCityUK was Peel Media`s Legal and Commercial Director Jackie Whalley (right of picture) and Jen Davies, Estate Manager (left of picture) as throughout 2019 Ridge Park have been working closely for and alongside Tony Chebrika, Head of Security at Peel Media, to develop their Enterprise Risk Management Plan and suite of Business Continuity plans. At the start of the project we committed to donate a percentage of our fee to an appropriate charity engaged within a community based arena, that delivered a tangible social value to the benefit of those in great need. Throughout 2019 the same pledge had been made to Manchester City Council and the security contract procurement support work we have provided on behalf of Steve Southern, MCC`s Head of FM Services and therefore it was a great privilege to hand over the 2 separate cheques.
Getting to a position where we could start to “give something back” to the Communities we both once served as Police Officers, was always a priority for us when we set up Ridge Park.
Carol contacted us after the event to say:
“It was such a joy to meet you both yesterday, I felt really blessed by your interest and compassion for the men and women we support and the donation you have given us is such a vital and much needed boost at this challenging time of year. It really is an amazing blessing”
We know that Carol and her team will put the money to good use and to the benefit of those in need this Christmas.
